The Rendler Family Foundation was established by Daniel Joseph Rendler (Dan) in honor of his parents, Dana Louise Pulone born in Los Angeles, California on April 25, 1937 and adopted by Mary and Dante Pulone and Kenneth Fredrick Rendler born in Los Angeles, California on July 26, 1936 to Josephine and Joseph Rendler. Dana and Ken were married on August 13, 1955 and raised 3 children, Karen, Dan and Tom. They also had 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren at the time this Foundation was established.
The Rendler Family Foundation was established and presented to Dana and Ken on Dana’s 80th birthday, April 25, 2017 in appreciation for, and recognition of the legacy of faith, family, service and sacrificial giving they modeled their entire lives and will leave for future generations to follow. The word “foundation” is very fitting as they are the “foundation” of the Rendler family, true servant leaders deeply rooted in faith, family and community service. They are the matriarchs of the Rendler family who lead by example, role modeling the value and importance of living a life of faith and service to others. They are two of the most loving, generous, humble and giving people the good Lord continues to bless us all with.
While raising their family, Dana and Ken regularly sacrificed their own personal needs to make sure their children had strong foundations in faith, education and health & fitness. Their children were fortunate to grow up in a home of faith, attend faith based schools and to participate in athletics. Now, later in life, Dana and Ken are continuing their focus on family, regularly attending milestone events for grand and great grandchildren and helping family members navigate through life’s challenges, all while finding time to volunteer, or work as they like to call it, in the community and at church. They are both Eucharistic Ministers and volunteer at their local hospital helping patients.
Saint Francis of Assisi is quoted as saying, “Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received—only what you have given.” Dana and Ken have been leading full and faithful lives of stewardship to others and sacrificial giving. When they leave this earth, their bags will be overflowing with love, appreciation and respect from those of us who have been blessed to be recipients of their generosity and love. They have given so much to so many.
The Rendler Family Foundation has been established in honor of Dana Louise (Pulone) Rendler and Kenneth Fredrick Rendler, carrying on their legacy of giving by raising funds to enrich and enhance the lives of families with three areas of focus: Faith, Education and Health & Fitness.
