Edna KarinskiEdna Karinski
Chief Executive Officer

As a Glendale resident, Edna has worked in the region for over 26 years with combined experience in marketing and communications and as a non-profit Development Director. Her local affiliations include the former Glendale Symphony Board of Trustees, the Glendale Unified School District Superintendent’s Advisory Council, and as a columnist for PTA news in the Glendale News Press. Edna currently chairs the Glendale Healthier Community Coalition and was named among Business Life Magazine’s Women Achievers for 2012. Julie_BurgJulie Burg
Accountant

Julie has been the Foundation’s vital part-time Accountant since 2010 when she came on board to assist with the implementation of an updated financial management software system. Since then, she has continued in her important responsibility with managing the funds under the Foundation’s care as well as providing financials and quarterly fund reports for donors. Julie holds a BS in Accounting from SUNY’s Binghamton University and held CPA licensure in the State of New York where she held senior positions in audit and accounting work. She and her husband reside locally with their three sons – who are avid hockey players as well as hockey fans! For Julie, working with the Foundation has been very enjoyable and rewarding as she sees how the merging of donors and funding to local nonprofits help to make our community a better place for all.



MelissaMelissa Watte

Office Administrator

Melissa is the Foundation’s Office Administrator. She provides very high-level administrative and clerical support to the CEO and serves as a liaison to the Board of Directors, donors, staff and the greater community served by the Foundation. Melissa holds a Masters in Intercultural Studies and has traveled extensively working in various positions with non-profits, her last position residing in South Africa. She was born and raised locally and loves the area, its people and its many cultures. In her free time she explores new mediums of art and dystopian literature. Melissa enjoys being a link of communication and support between the Foundation and the community; she will often be your first point of welcome to the Foundation.


Liz MarquezElizabeth Marquez
Scholarships Coordinator

Elizabeth is the Foundation’s part-time Scholarships Coordinator and the link between students applying for annual scholarships and Scholarship Committee members who make the important decisions of student selection. Her work in answering questions and the processing of applications are critical to the smooth implementation of applicant consideration and selection. She also coordinates the processing of scholarship awards issued to the schools that students will be attending. Questions about scholarships can be directed to Elizabeth at any time during the year. As part of the Foundation’s office team, Elizabeth is happy to be able to serve the needs of area students. She resides with her husband and son locally and also enjoys volunteer work with her son’s PTA where she has been President.
