How to Apply for Grants

Important: All grant checks are sent directly to the nonprofit organizations approved for a grant. We are sorry but the CFV cannot provide grant or financial support for an individual in need. Please seek out other charitable organizations and services in your local area or city.

During the 2026 grant cycle, the Community Foundation of the Verdugos (CFV) is accepting requests from any 501(c)(3) headquartered and providing services in the Verdugo Region (Burbank, Glendale, Montrose, La Crescenta, La Canada-Flintridge, Verdugo City, Tujunga, Sunland, Sun Valley and adjacent areas of North Hollywood, Eagle Rock and Atwater Village). If you are not based or headquartered in the Verdugo Region, you must already be providing solid services in the Verdugo Region in order to qualify for funding consideration.
This is a competitive cycle enabling nonprofits to request funding for their most important needs that include impact and improve the quality of life in the Verdugo region. If your agency received a grant from the CFV’s 2025 grant cycle, you cannot apply again this year but may do so in 2027.

IMPORTANT IN YOUR BUDGET AND FUNDING PLANS: 2026 grant decisions will be APPROVED September 23, 2026. Checks will be issued during the first part of October 2026. The CFV does not fund programs/needs that have already taken place (an example might be a 2026 summer program) or have already been purchased. Requests should be made for projects and needs ranging from Fall 2026 through Summer 2027 (Application Guidelines contain full details on the CFV grant cycle).

  • The grant recipient is required to submit a final report evaluating the outcome of the program and/or the use of funds if they wish to be considered for future funding eligibility.
  • The organization should be able to support the Foundation in its media efforts by publicizing the grant in its own publications, signage, plaques, etc.
